Jackets for the Homeless on Christmas Eve

hiThis Christmas, we’re collecting jackets, blankets & hats again to help the homeless in Atlanta. If you can donate a jacket or a few blankets, we’d be happy to pick them up and put them to great use! We will collect them throughout December. The way they get delivered is a pretty amazing story…
I’ve got a good friend named Paul Capobianco. Paul is a born-again Christian and a long time friend of mine from 12Stone Church. Paul is my favorite kind of Christian – he’s quite clear about the fact that he knows he is “the worse sinner of all” (as another famous Paul wrote many times in scripture:). I like other Christians who get the fact that we’re all in such dire need of His Grace – we’re all the worst of sinners actually. Being a Christian just means that we are aware of this depravity – not that we’re any closer to heaven (by no means!)
Paul gives of himself all… the… time. He & his wife Lynn are just always doing something for someone else – giving at a level that would make most everyone else pretty uncomfortable (because it’s hard).
I’m not writing this stuff just to tell you how great Paul is. That’s not my point at all. I just want you to know that if you can give a jacket or a hat or 10 jackets & 10 hats, that you’re giving them into the hands of an amazing servant and they WILL be delivered. Someone will surely be blessed by it on a cool winter night soon.
Here’s the amazing part…
Every year on Christmas Eve, Paul & Lynn drive down to Atlanta with a truck full of blankets, coats & hats that they distribute to the homeless.
OK, you gotta stop read that again. (Think about what we’re all doing on Christmas eve. Think “cozy in front of the fire”, etc.)

It’s one of the best stories of Christmas I’ve ever heard. I hear it every year. It never gets old.
This is one of the easiest things you can do to help others this Christmas. If you have anything at all to donate, please let us know. We’d be happy to pick it up.
